We collaboratively secure cloud providers and their customers to lock down the building blocks of the internet through security automation, system development, threat modelling, and training.

Our open source products and working group contributions give back to the community and reciprocate into the commons.

What We’re Looking For in a Head of Sales

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and ambitious Head of Sales to join our Executive Team and lead ControlPlane's sales and marketing function, providing leadership and guidance across Europe, North America, and APAC.

You will be a highly motivated and dynamic leader, with a proven track record of success in a similar role in an international professional services consultancy. You should be comfortable working in a remote-first environment that regularly prioritises high-impact collaboration with the CEO in our London office.

The successful candidate will be passionate and tech-savvy, with a strong understanding of the company's culture and values, and a commitment to helping us on our rapid and exciting growth journey. You will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for regulated industries, managing the sales and marketing team, and providing leadership to the business.

This is a unique opportunity to join a successful start-up and make a positive impact — to work, learn, and grow with an unrivalled team that consistently challenges the status quo. We offer a competitive London salary plus a performance-based bonus.

Roles and Responsibilities of Our Head of Sales

You will:

  • Develop, curate, and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the group, leveraging the team's ebullient spirit and kind collaborative culture to grow our revenue and profitability
  • Assist the CEO and sales team to develop and grow key customer relationships
  • Be accountable for managing new sales opportunities and commercial partnerships
  • Demonstrate leadership and management of the sales and marketing team to help them grow in their roles and careers
  • Be responsible for the success of lead generation activities such as marketing, conference attendance, and meet ups
  • Collaborate with the finance and delivery teams on messaging, pricing strategies, and business models for achieving revenue goals
  • Monitor the market and identify opportunities and competition, providing strategies to help the company meet its ambitious targets

Qualities of a Successful Applicant

You should have some or all of:

  • Remarkable capacity for developing and maintaining relationships, using marketing, branding, and partnerships to consistently increase revenue
  • Adept crafting and execution of effective business strategies
  • Exceptional people management skills, allowing you to foster an environment of collaboration and excellence
  • Masterful organisation, planning, multitasking, and time management, and a track record of success in these areas
  • Total discretion and diplomacy, with reasoned judgement in responding to complex circumstances
  • Unparalleled aptitude for problem-solving and generating solutions
  • Capability to think and act with both precision and agility
  • Proactive problem solving approaches and a “can do” attitude, with a meticulous eye for sales opportunities
  • Strong generalist skill set beyond sales activities, possessing comprehensive and well-rounded business acumen that is both strategic and practical
  • Exemplary communication skills, with a native or fluent level of English
  • Early adoption of new technologies, with a comprehensive knowledge of Google Workspace (G Suite) applications, MS Office Suite, and other office productivity tools, as well as a knack for learning new software and systems
  • Passion for your work and great pride in your enthusiasm, professionalism, and attention to detail
