What We’re Looking For in Our Events & Marketing Coordinator
You will represent the technical and cultural values of ControlPlane whilst supporting the company with organisation and management of events and marketing.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and ambitious Events & Marketing Coordinator to support ControlPlane's events and conference attendance. You will be closely aligned with the company’s culture, supporting our unique brand of friendly, technical excellence; assisting with the organisation, coordination and management of conference and event attendance.
You will work directly with external organisers, associates, and senior management to help track and manage various conferences and events that ControlPlane hosts and attends throughout the year.
Our Events & Marketing Coordinator will have at least 2 years’ experience in marketing and events with experience of conference management and attendance a plus. You will have experience of working with small businesses and/or technology start-ups, and be comfortable performing a variety of duties, with tech savviness being a must. We work on London time and have employees based in Europe, APAC and North America. The position pays a competitive London salary plus a performance-based bonus and provides an exciting and extensive opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual to grow with the business’s success.

This is a remote-first position, with once- or twice-weekly travel to Central London for meet-ups and in-person collaboration in our London office.
Roles, Responsibilities and Requirements of Our Events & Marketing Coordinator
- Support the senior management and wider team in their coordination and attendance of various conferences, both in the UK and internationally
- Liaise with organisers and potential co-sponsors to facilitate smooth running of all conferences that ControlPlane hosts and/or attends
- Promote and exhibit our ebullient team spirit and kind company culture
- Assist the finance team with pulling together budgets and compiling proposed budgets for future events
- Take charge of ControlPlane's social media, making sure that we are promoting ourself to the best of our ability at events and within the wider community
- Manage the ordering and sending of company swag from our offices to new hires, and external clients and associates
- Work with our sales team to assist and ideate on our business development events
Our Events & Marketing Coordinator Will Have These Preferred or Specific Skills
- Strong organisational, planning, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- A proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills – excellent English language skills at a native or fluent level
- A focussed team player with a “can do” attitude and excellent attention to detail
- Pride in technology use - early adoption of new technologies, excellent grasp of Google Workspace (G Suite) applications, MS Office Suite and other office productivity tools, and aptitude for learning new software and systems
- Ability to prioritise the team's delivery and be flexible in order to facilitate the success of the team
- An interest in the events and marketing process and a desire to make incremental improvements as the company grows and develops
- Ability to act with total discretion and diplomacy and show sound judgement in responding to complex circumstances
- Enthusiasm, consummate professionalism, and excellent attention to detail
- Experience of reporting to management, using spreadsheets and other software to prepare effective reports and management information
