Who is ControlPlane?

We are a London based cloud technology company, helping to keep people safe online. We work with cloud providers and their customers to secure the building blocks of the internet, by offering consulting, training and products related to cloud native development, security and operations.

ControlPlane’s priority is to continue to be a leader in the Kubernetes and Cloud DevSecOps space. We secure the next generation of software systems and provide a clear, risk-based adoption guide for organisations looking to implement best practices.

Trusted by Google Cloud, UK Home Office, JPMC, among many others, our clients are world leading organisations.

What We’re Looking For in Our Sales Administrator

You will represent the technical and cultural values of ControlPlane, whilst supporting our technical team throughout the sales process.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Sales Administrator to support ControlPlane's sales process. You will be a strong team assistant, working across the whole company supporting technical sales proposal authors as well as leadership and management to ensure an organised, smooth and consistent sales process.

You will be comfortable keeping multiple proposals organised and on track, being unafraid to chase work items up with anyone in the business.

This is a rare chance to help facilitate the continued success of ControlPlane by remotely supporting the sales process, and facilitating the most efficient use of time across the organisation. Our Sales Administrator will have at least 2 years’ administrative experience in an office-based environment, reporting directly to management. The ability to perform a variety of duties with tech savviness is a must, with small business or start-up experience in a tech company preferred. Although some basic knowledge of a sales environment is desired, it is not essential; however, the right candidate must at least be interested in Sales and be looking to grow their career in that direction. We work on London time and have employees based in Europe, New Zealand and North America. The position pays a competitive London salary, and provides an exciting and extensive opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual to grow with the business’s success.

This is a unique job role within a successful start-up company where you will have the chance to make a positive impact, learn, grow and work with great colleagues who consistently challenge the status quo.

This is a remote position, although we invite you to spend time in person at our London office: this is optional and we aim to be entirely flexible to your needs. As a leader in the cloud native community there are opportunities for international travel.

You may be expected to work on client sites as required.

Roles, Responsibilities and Requirements of Our Sales Administrator

  • Coordinate the sales process from new enquiry to the signing of a new statement of work
  • Agree required timescales for work items throughout the sales process and chase team members up to ensure these timescales are met
  • Report on a regular basis to leadership and management on the progress of different proposals and leads
  • Support the Head of Finance to quantify the value of the sales pipeline
  • Improve current workflows, create project transparency, and sync with different teams for regular updates, ensuring the smooth running of the sales department
  • Update proposal and lead status within the company's CRM
  • Work with our marketing and events team to assist with business development events and capture leads, following-up with them as needed after the event

Our Sales Administrator Will Have These Preferred or Specific Skills

  • Strong organisational, planning, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Familiarity with project management and CRM tools and software desired but not essential
  • A proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills – excellent English language skills at a native or fluent level
  • A focussed team player with a “can do” attitude and excellent attention to detail
  • Pride in technology use - early adoption of new technologies, excellent grasp of Google Workspace (GSuite) applications, MS Office Suite and other office productivity tools, and aptitude for learning new software and systems
  • An interest in the sales and marketing process and a desire to make incremental improvements as the company grows and develops
  • Ability to act with total discretion and diplomacy and show sound judgement in responding to complex circumstances
  • Enthusiasm, consummate professionalism, and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of reporting to management, using spreadsheets and other software to prepare effective reports and management information

Benefits

ControlPlane is a dynamic, cutting edge and passionate business for which to work. Our employees are the heart of our business, which means we care about our company culture and our employees’ wellbeing and progression. Alongside this, as our colleague you will have the following benefits:

  • Generous and competitive salary
  • Discretionary team bonus
  • 33 days of paid holiday, including paid leave for the standard 8 UK Bank Holidays
  • Statutory pension contribution

We are looking for technical practitioners who can work with our clients and the team to deliver these projects and help establish ControlPlane as a world-class technical thought leader.

We believe our peers are equally as important as the technology we use. We’re looking for people of the highest personal calibre, quietly confident, with a good work ethic, keenness to learn, emotional maturity and respect, who know that “we” is more than “me”, and who embrace human diversity of all kinds. As we grow you will help us to build a company culture of which we can all be proud. If you espouse these values, we want you!
