What We're Looking For in a Finance Assistant

We are looking for a motivated, ambitious Finance Assistant to work in tandem with the Finance team to support the business. You will be closely aligned with the FC but will also gain exposure across the business by partnering with the ControlPlane Team.

This is a wonderful chance to help facilitate the continued success of ControlPlane by supporting the team and allowing everyone to use their time most efficiently. This role encompasses assiduous organisation and management, autonomous forward planning and intuition.

You will have experience within a bookkeeping/finance environment within a similar role and be comfortable performing various duties.

This is a remote-first position, with travel to Bristol for in-person collaboration with the FC/CFO.

Roles, Responsibilities and Requirements of our Finance Assistant

Processing of invoices using Hubdoc and Xero - ensuring correct nominal coding and departmental allocation
Generating sales invoices for approval
Bank account postings and reconciliations
Preparation of payroll reports for approval
Management of the pension portal
Generating and maintaining supporting schedules for the monthly management accounts including:

Our Finance Assistant Will Have These Preferred or Specific Skills:

Previous experience of working in a similar role

Understanding of double entry bookkeeping

Ability to work independently and accurately

Part or fully qualified AAT, or equivalent qualification preferred

A focussed team player with a “can do” attitude and excellent attention to detail

Pride in technology use - early adoption of new technologies, excellent grasp of Google Workspace (G Suite) applications, MS Office Suite and other office productivity tools, and aptitude for learning new software and systems

Ability to prioritise the team's delivery and be flexible in order to facilitate the success of the team

Ability to act with total discretion and diplomacy and show sound judgement in responding to complex circumstances

Enthusiasm, consummate professionalism, and excellent attention to detail
